Why prefabrication matters
Most flat roof leaks happen at seams and flashings. Duro-Last fabricates the membrane — and the flashings for curbs, stacks and corners — in the factory to your roof's measurements. Far less welding happens on your rooftop.
Where PVC is the right call
- Restaurants — PVC resists grease from kitchen exhaust that degrades other membranes.
- Flat residential roofs — we've installed 80-mil Duro-Last overlays on Atlanta homes.
- Roofs with lots of penetrations — prefabricated flashings make complex roofs simpler.
What being a Duro-Last Authorized Dealer means
Duro-Last sells its roofing systems through authorized contractors, not supply houses. As a Duro-Last Authorized Dealer, Mosaic orders membrane that Duro-Last custom-fabricates for each roof from our measurements, installs it to Duro-Last's specifications, and can register qualifying roofs for Duro-Last's manufacturer warranty. Warranty terms depend on the system and membrane thickness and are written into your proposal.
Overlays: a new roof without a tear-off
On many flat roofs, a Duro-Last membrane can go over the existing roof once we confirm the roof and insulation underneath are dry. An overlay avoids tear-off debris, keeps the building in use, and usually finishes faster.
If moisture testing shows wet insulation, we remove the wet areas or recommend a full tear-off instead. Compare with TPO and roof coatings.
PVC vs. TPO at a glance
- Grease and chemicals - PVC resists restaurant exhaust grease and many chemicals. TPO is not recommended where grease reaches the roof.
- Seams - both are heat-welded. Duro-Last welds most seams in the factory, so there are fewer field seams on your roof.
- Cost - TPO usually costs less. PVC earns its price on restaurants, complex roofs and buildings where leaks are expensive.
Frequently asked questions
Can Duro-Last go over my existing roof?
Often, if the existing roof is dry and sound. We check for moisture before recommending an overlay.
What's the difference between 50- and 80-mil?
Thickness. Thicker membranes hold up better to foot traffic and weather and usually carry longer warranties.
Is Mosaic a Duro-Last dealer?
Yes. Mosaic Roofing Company is a Duro-Last Authorized Dealer serving metro Atlanta, for commercial buildings and flat residential roofs.
Is Duro-Last good for restaurants?
Yes. PVC resists the grease that kitchen exhaust fans put on a roof, which breaks down many other membranes. It's one of the most common reasons owners choose Duro-Last.
Can Duro-Last be used on a house?
Yes, on flat and low-slope sections like porches, additions and modern flat-roof homes. We've installed 80-mil Duro-Last overlays on Atlanta homes.
